Strengthening MSME Financing in Bohol: A PHILGUARANTEE Partnership Forum
The Philippine Guarantee Corporation (PHILGUARANTEE) successfully convened the Strengthening MSME Financing in Bohol: A PHILGUARANTEE Partnership Forum on February 19, 2026, in Tagbilaran City. The forum brought together financial institutions and local stakeholders to reinforce collaborative efforts in expanding access to financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the province.
The event was attended by representatives from First Consolidated Bank, ORIX METRO, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) – Tagbilaran Lending Center, 1st Valley Bank, Bohol Chamber of Commerce, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) – Banko, and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) – Bohol Lending Center, alongside local business owners and MSMEs. Their participation showed a shared commitment to strengthening Bohol’s financial ecosystem and supporting proudly Bohol products, services, and local businesses.
During the forum, PHILGUARANTEE presented its suite of guarantee programs designed to enhance lending to MSMEs by mitigating credit risks for partner financial institutions. Discussions highlighted available MSME-focused guarantee programs, as well as specialized support for the agriculture and housing sectors. These are the areas identified as critical drivers of inclusive and sustainable development in Bohol.
As part of the Strengthening MSME Financing in Bohol: A PHILGUARANTEE Partnership Forum, the PHILGUARANTEE team conducted a visit on February 20 to Dalareich Chocolate House, where they met with its owner, Ms. Dalareich Polot. During the engagement, Ms. Polot shared the story behind the establishment of the enterprise, discussed how the business is managed, and highlighted its support for local farmers through sustainable and inclusive practices. The PHILGUARANTEE team also presented the Corporation’s mandate and guarantee programs, and discussed potential areas of support for proudly Bohol products, services, and local enterprises.
