PHILGUARANTEE Holds Executive Briefing with DOF Secretary Go

Finance Secretary and PHILGUARANTEE Chairperson Frederick D. Go met with thePHILGUARANTEE senior management led by PCEO Alberto E. Pascual on February 6, 2026, at the Board of Investments Office, Makati City.

PHILGUARANTEE senior officers briefed Secretary Go on the institutional background, mandate, and operational framework following its consolidation under Executive Order No. 58. It highlighted the Corporation’s role as the national credit
guarantee institution, mobilizing private sector financing to support housing, agriculture, MSMEs, and other priority sectors.

Secretary Go underscored PHILGUARANTEE’s critical role in expanding access to finance, particularly through enhanced guarantee coverage for housing, agriculture, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—sectors that generate employment, support livelihoods, and drive inclusive growth.

Key accomplishments and performance indicators were also presented, including the sustained growth of the credit guarantee portfolio, expanding beneficiary coverage, and positive socio-economic multipliers. The briefing also identified current priority
programs, strategic initiatives, and policy and operational issues requiring guidance, and reaffirmed PHILGUARANTEE’s commitment to align its guarantee programs with the Department of Finance’s economic agenda in support of inclusive and
sustainable economic growth.
